Since the start of minicamp, the New Orleans Saints have made an effort to gauge the available talent in free agency, and at times, have invited some players in for visits/tryouts. Running back Cam Akers was one of the players signed during minicamp, but since then, the Saints have been relatively quiet. Now, with training camp set to start in only a few days, New Orleans makes their next move of the offseason by signing former Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard, per Mike Garafolo.

Adding yet another player to this Saints defensive line may not make the most sense due to the number of players New Orleans already has. Still, Bullards history of playing in a 3-4 defense brings some experience that other players on the roster may not have. Over his career, Bullard has the flexibility to play on the edge in a 4-3 alignment and as a 3-4 defensive end. His strength is not pass rush, and he has only had 6.5 sacks in his career, but Bullards run defense is where his game shines.

Now that the signing is complete, how do you feel about Jonathan Bullards addition to the roster? How do you think this could affect potential roster cuts, and are there any other free agent additions you would like the Saints to make? Let us know in the comments below!
