Nine out of 10 homeless women are missing from official government figures, charities have said. Solace Women's Aid and Single Homeless Project have said their research shows that the current rough sleeping snapshot, carried out by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, is inadequate. Emergency Declaration Issued After Chemical Trailers Fire in Bakers Bend
Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) following a fire at Bakers Bend, 20 kilometres south of Charleville. Emergency services were initially called to the Mitchell Highway around 6:30am following reports of two chemical trailers on fire. A PSPA was declared at 8:59am with the exclusion zone encompassing a large section of the Mitchell Highway near the Angellala Creek bridge.
